Article 1 — Scope and definitions
This policy applies to all persons accessing the werinfinance.com platform and, where applicable, the WERIN mobile application, whether or not they have a User Account.
Its purpose is to inform Visitors and Users about cookies that may be placed on their device, their purposes and the means available to manage their choices. WERIN may modify this policy at any time to comply with legislative or technical developments.
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, smartphone, tablet) when you browse the platform. It allows its issuer to identify your device for the duration of the cookie's validity. Some cookies are essential to the operation of the site and are placed automatically. Others, which improve or personalise your experience, are activated only with your prior consent.
Article 2 — Who places the cookies?
The cookies present on the WERIN platform may be placed by two types of actors:
- WERIN itself, for cookies related to the operation of the platform and audience analysis;
- Third-party providers, whose services are integrated into the platform (analytics tools, payment provider). WERIN ensures that these third parties comply with the applicable data protection regulations.
Only the issuer of a cookie can read the information it contains.
Article 3 — How and why does WERIN use cookies?
WERIN uses three categories of cookies, whose purposes and conditions of placement are detailed below. With the exception of cookies strictly necessary for the technical operation of the platform, no cookie is placed without your prior and explicit consent.
| Category | Purpose | Consent required? | Max duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necessary cookies | Technical operation of the platform: session persistence, protection against attacks, storage of your consent preferences. | No | Session / 13 months |
| Audience-measurement cookies (GA4 / PostHog) | Statistical analysis of platform traffic and browsing behaviour, to improve the service. These tools use identifiable behavioural tracking subject to consent. | Yes | 13 months |
| Functional cookies | Storage of your display preferences (theme, dashboard layout) beyond the simple browsing session. | Yes | 12 months |
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential to browsing the platform and are placed without your prior consent, in accordance with the applicable regulations. In particular, they maintain your session, protect you against certain attacks and store your cookie preferences. Disabling them is not possible without impairing the operation of the service.
Audience-measurement cookies — Google Analytics 4 and PostHog
WERIN uses two audience-measurement tools to analyse the use of the platform and improve its services:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4), operated by Google Ireland Limited. GA4 places tracking cookies that measure traffic, browsing journeys and user behaviour. These cookies involve cross-site tracking subject to consent under CNIL guidance.
- PostHog, behavioural analytics tool. Even in its self-hosted configuration, PostHog carries out identifiable behavioural tracking that requires your prior consent.
Both tools are activated only with your explicit consent. Without consent, the corresponding scripts are fully blocked and no browsing data is collected for analytics purposes.
Functional cookies
These cookies store your personal preferences (display theme, dashboard layout) beyond your browsing session. They are activated only with your consent. Refusing them resets your preferences on each visit, without impact on access to the services.
Article 4 — How to manage your cookies?
WERIN has implemented the cookie consent manager Axeptio (CMP — Consent Management Platform), in line with the CNIL's recommendations. This mechanism ensures that no cookie subject to consent is placed before you have freely, knowingly and explicitly expressed your choice.
The principle: blocked by default
By default, from the moment you arrive on the platform, all analytical and functional scripts are blocked ("consent denied" mode). Google Analytics 4 and PostHog are triggered only after your explicit acceptance, via our tag manager (Google Tag Manager). If you refuse or ignore the banner, no browsing data is collected for analytics purposes.
Through our consent banner
On your first visit, the Axeptio banner invites you to configure your cookie preferences by category. You can accept all cookies, refuse non-necessary cookies, or customise your choices. Your decision is stored for a maximum of thirteen (13) months, after which your consent will be requested again.
You can change your preferences at any time by clicking on the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of each page. Note: if you delete all your cookies via your browser, your choice will no longer be stored and the banner will appear again.
Through your browser settings
You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies. The help pages for the main browsers are available here:
- Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cookies-information-websites-store-on-your-computer
- Apple Safari: support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/safari/sfri11471/mac
- Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies
Note: disabling cookies necessary for the operation of the platform may impair access to all or part of the WERIN services. If your device is shared between several people, WERIN cannot guarantee that stored preferences match each person's use.
Article 5 — More information
For more information on cookies and how to manage them, you may consult the CNIL website: www.cnil.fr/en/cookies-and-other-tracking-devices.
